MCG’s wall-to-wall coverage of the 2013 Detroit Autorama continues with a huge photo gallery of the vehicles on display on the main floor at Cobo Center.

This year’s attractions included a reunion of past Ridler Award winners to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the trophy, with around half of the previous 49 award winners answering the call to muster. (Here’s a previous Motor City Garage feature from earlier in the week where you can see all 49.) We included a few of these past champions in the gallery below.

Outside the front doors on Friday at Cobo, showgoers were also treated to a full-cackle demonstration of two of Al Bergler’s historic race cars, his More Aggravation AA/Comp dragster and the Motown Shaker Vega funny car. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Nitro fumes, you know.

The Pirelli Great 8 finalists for the this year’s Ridler Award were selected on Friday, with the winner to be announced Sunday night. You can view all eight 2013 finalists here in this MCG feature.

There are indeed too many great cars at Autorama to name them all, but here are just a few highlights:from the main floor:

+  The Cobalt Blue ’49 Cadillac of Paul and Chris Andrews, designed by Chip Foose

+   Beau Bockman’s ’34 Ford five-window coupe done in period-perfect pre-1965 indoor show-car style

+   Kevin Callahan’s stunning green ’70 GTO Judge convertible

+   George Poteet’s 1969 Torino built by Troy Trepanier

+   Norma and Jim Hensley’s ’55 Thunderbird, lavender with Fairlane side trim

…and a whole lot more. You can inspect all these fine machines in the gallery below. And be sure to check back at Mac’s Motor City Garage for more coverage of the 2013 Detroit Autorama, including the basement Autorama Extreme Show and the big Ridler Award presentation on Sunday evening.
